In this video I unbox a Roku Express and show the COMPLETE setup process to use the Roku Express to access my Comcast Xfinity X1 Services without renting another cable box. I purchased a Roku Express for about $30 on Amazon and am saving money by not having to rent another box and I may be eliminating another box soon. I take you through the whole process from start to finish including activating the Roku and connecting it to my Xfinity account. Then I show you a little of how the system works. I HAVE FOUND OUT FROM SOME COMMENTERS THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE XFINITY INTERNET SERVICE FOR THIS TO WORK. YOU ALSO NEED HD SERVICE IN ORDER TO SEE YOUR DISPLAY IN FULL SCREEN. Comment below and let us know if you have any questions that we can answer now that we have been living with the setup for a little while now. Be sure to click subscribe to our YouTube Page! The Xfinity TV app for Roku came out Jan 31st 2017 and I must say it rocks. If you want to see what the app offers this is the video for you. This was done with the Roku Ultra and hardwired to cat5e. The app only works when the roku box is connected to your home network, I have tested this.
I ran out and purchased a Roku express to check out the new xfinity app. I love the idea of not having a cable box. The best part might be how easy it is to simply plug the tv into the wall rather than having to worry about coax cables, boxes, and HDMI. I can grab my 28" tv, plug it into the wall, and watch the local sports team outside in the yard. Please xfinity, consider not charging for this feature.

Comcast is rolling out new technology that allows customers to stream to their TV. CNET's Bridget Carey talks about how the new system works.
Paying $110 for service that doesn’t work... stick to SlingTV
