http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/shoei-rf-1100-solid-helmet Shoei already had a stellar sport-touring helmet in the RF1000, a bestseller since its introduction in 2003. But when the Snell M2010 standard for safety certification came along, Shoei assembled a team of the world's finest developers, and with the help of customer & dealer suggestions, the RF1100 was born. It very well might be the best sport touring helmet on the planet. This helmet isn't a modified RF1000. The Shoei RF1100 is rebuilt from the ground up and it is groundbreaking. It features a new shell with a streamlined spoiler built in. This means no more bolted-on spoiler which allows the RF1000 to have superior top exhaust vent construction. This thing flows an unbelievable amount of air. A taller, wider face shield is equipped with a quick-release system for lightning fast tool-free shield changes. It's also spring-loaded which makes for even contact with the gasket resulting in complete wind and waterproofing. Tons more features abound in this guy. http://www.compacc.com/Shoei-RF-1100-Helmets The successor to the venerable RF-1000, the RF-1100 is a completely re-designed helmet with a host of impressive features that make it a fantastic sport helmet. The RF-1100 features a new AIM+ shell with an integrated molded spoiler. This aerodynamic shape results in less buffeting, and cuts cleanly through the air. The Shoei RF-1100 also has improved venting over the RF-1000, with improved airflow throughout the helmet. To see all of the graphics and color options available, be sure to visit the link above.
So I finally picked up my SHOEI RF 1100. The helmet is comfortable to a degree and it's relatively good on long distances. Some people have complained of it being a tad bit noisy I'd say that's partially true but not objectionably so. I’m thinking installing the chin curtain will probably help to reduce additional noise. As far as helmets go its relatively light but there are lighter helmets out there. This is a premium helmet and I plan on getting another one for Vlogging with as I really would like to try to reserve this one as long as possible.
