The Untold Story of EMMETT LUIS TILL (Documentary 2005) by Keith Beauchamp

Like the page "Mamie Till Mobley Foundation" on Facebook: www.facebook.com/MamieTillMobleyFoundation Never-before-seen testimony is included in this documentary on Emmett Louis Till, who, in 1955, was brutally murdered after he whistled at a white woman. Simple yet riveting, The Untold Story of Emmett Louis Till articulates the madness of racism in the South of the 1950s. Combining archival photos and footage with deeply felt interviews, this documentary tells the harrowing story of what happened when a mischievous 14 year old black boy from Chicago, visiting his relatives in Mississippi, whistled at a white woman in the street. The lynching that followed was so gruesome that a media circus surrounded the trial--and what stunned the nation was not only the crime, but the blithe unconcern the citizens of a small Mississippi town felt toward the brutal murder of a black teenager. The interviews suspensefully unveil the story, moving from the viewpoint of Till's mother to the perspective of his Southern cousins to actual film of Till's uncle, who had the astonishing courage to accuse the two killers in court. Till's mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, addressed the entire country in news footage, begging that something be done so that her son did not die in vain. The awkward, un-media-savvy quality of the 1950s interviews may seem to come from another world, but the harsh truth of what happened sprang all too clearly from America's still unresolved racial conflicts. A passionate, compelling documentary.

Carolyn Bryant: The Untold Story (A WORLD EXCLUSIVE!)

THE G-MAN INTERVIEWS: SCOTT SHEPHERD Close Friend of the Bryant Family Makes Shocking Allegation About the Circumstances That Led to Emmett Till's Murder **FAIR USE NOTICE** These Videos May Contain Copyrighted (©) Material. For More Information: http://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode Welcome. In the previous episode, actor and director Michael Green discussed his acclaimed play Whistle in Mississippi: The Lynching of Emmett Till, the circumstances surrounding the brutal murder, and the men who were acquitted in case: Roy Bryant and J.W. Milam. Mr. Green also proclaimed that he believed something "positive" took place in the store between Emmett Till and Carolyn Bryant, the woman that Till whistled at ...and a woman that has remained silent and in seclusion for the last several decades. According to my special guest, Mr. Green is absolutely correct in his assessment. Scott Shepherd was a member of the Ku Klux Klan and served as Imperial Wizard, Grand Wizard, and national leader of the Omerta Knights of the Ku Klux Klan. His other affiliations included the National Association for the Advancement of White People and The European-American Unity Rights Organization. Shepherd created The National White Rights Association and The White Rights Organization. The Mississippi native, who frequently appears in my ongoing series "Racism and Rage in America", has known and interacted with members of the Bryant family since he was a child. Over the last 30 years, Shepherd, his father, extended family members, and members of the Indianola community have privately discussed the Till murder and the role Carolyn Bryant may have played. Now, nearly 60 years after the murder, trial and acquittal, Scott Shepherd is going to reveal what he describes as a crucial element that should've been considered when the federal government attempted to file charges against Carolyn Bryant. According to the former Klansman and members of his family, it was something that was common knowledge throughout the Indianola community. The interview was conducted via Skype on June 18, 2014.
