Jason vs The Ultimate LEGO Machine (LuuMa EV3)

Jason vs The Ultimate LEGO Machine (LuuMa EV3)

This video showcases my custom designed Ultimate Machine (also known as a Useless Machine) built using the new LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kit. I call it the LuuMa EV3. Watch part 2 here: https://youtu.be/g5y1pdPVDx8 It's a little bit more elaborate than the traditional ultimate machine, featuring 6 different responses for turning the switch off and 2 evasive maneuvers for trying to prevent the switch from being turned on in the first place. Step by step instructions for building it can be found on my website at: http://jkbrickworks.com/luuma-ev3 The Mindstorms project file for running the program is also there. Instructions for connecting the ports can be found in the program file (open the content editor if it doesn't open automatically). All the parts required to build the core are from set number 31313 LEGO Mindstorms EV3 kit. I had a lot of fun with this one, especially programming the various responses. As always, let me know in the comments what you think, and if there are any other cool mechanical creations you'd like to see built out of LEGO! Building the LEGO Lawn Mower Man

Building the LEGO Lawn Mower Man

An experimental jump cut video of me building my LEGO lawn mower man kinetic sculpture. It doesn't show me placing every piece, as that video would be considerably longer, but it will give you an idea of how it goes together. If you turn on captions you can read some notes about the build. I think the actual building time was around 3 hours. The showcase video for this model can be seen here: https://youtu.be/_yvDc9t1gZE More information and building instructions can be found on my website at http://jkbrickworks.com Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/JKBrickworks Twitter: http://twitter.com/jasonallemann Instagram: https://instagram.com/jasonallemann Thanks for watching! LEGO Marble Maze Game (Labyrinth)

LEGO Marble Maze Game (Labyrinth)

This is a custom ball maze game, commonly known as a Labyrinth, that I designed and built using LEGO pieces. The tilting maze surface is controlled by wheels on two sides of the frame. It features a removable storage container for the balls and a travel lock to ensure the maze doesn't move while in transit. More photos of this model can be found on my website at http://jkbrickworks.com/labyrinth-marble-maze/ I submitted this project to LEGO Ideas, and it has since reached 10,000 supporters, passed the review stage, and will be coming out as an official set. Thanks for the support! You can find more information at: http://jkbrickworks.com/maze For sneak peeks and behind the scenes content you can follow me on these other sites. LEGO Ball Clock

LEGO Ball Clock

A custom working ball clock built entirely using LEGO parts. It is motorized, but uses a mechanical system of rails to display the time using balls, as described in the video. These novelty clocks were invented in the 1970s by Harley Mayenschein. You can find more information about them here: http://www.idle-tyme.com/ For those that have noticed it does not keep accurate time in the video. I just wanted to show off the mechanical components of the clock. In the video it is running off of a standard LEGO 9V motor, which ends up picking up a ball every 55 seconds. In order to keep accurate time, an actual timing motor/controller has to be used. This could be easily done using the LEGO mindstorms system. More photos of this model can be found on my website: http://jkbrickworks.com/rolling-ball-clock/ For sneak peeks and behind the scenes content you can follow me on these other sites.
