From 9 oct to 1 dec 2017, twenty-nine ITEC scholarship winners from 16 different countries travelled to India to attend a specialised programme on e-learning. During two months at the Center for Development of Advanced Computing, Noida, they studied instructional design, Learning Management Systems such as Moodle, e-learning technologies and tools, computer languages for e-portal design, hosting and deployment of e-learning courses. But besides learning, the ITEC awardees took the opportunity of their sojourn in India to visit this country, meet Indian people and discover Indian culture. This video which has been published by one of them in the beginning of the new year is an insight into their sojourn in India. Thanks to the Indian Government and to CDAC who made this capacity building experience possible. Our thanks also go to the personnel of Sarovar Portico hotel for their kindness and devotion. The seeds you have sown have already started growing. Niangoran Thierry Martial.

In the beginning of this year I got a wonderful chance to visit India as ITEC student. India by itself is a very unique country with amazing cultural traditions and philosophy. Intriguingly unique! ;-) I visited several cities in the northern part of India in 2013, and such places as Varanasi, Khajuraho couldn’t leave me indifferent then. I love this country for all the awkward situations, which always take a creative approach to get out of, or these countless funny moments of misunderstanding when European and Indian mentality “collisions” happen.. :-) Really it’s a place where you can see the world from a completely different angle and get a fascinating experience of “being in the moment”. Especially when you come there with your mind and heart open to new things (any kind of things!) and without too many expectations. Still the main reason for my choice of this study destination was that India is one of the fastest growing economies with a very big potential. It’s a cradle for the emergence of giant companies. Most of the global businesses have their representative offices there. Taking into account that rapid economic growth I was curious to obtain some knowledges in management from that different perspective on many life areas. When considering the possibility of studying in this country I set my choice on 6 week course “Programme on General Management Skills” at IMI New Delhi https://www.imi.edu/delhi/ . This is one of the best institutes in India. Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, have ranked it at No.7 in “India Rankings 2016” amongst management institutions and at No.1 as a Private Business School there. And the learning process was really very interesting and interactive. The course included lectures, case studies, assignments, group work, class presentations and a final project. The professors at IMI apart from equipping us with basic skills necessary in managing a business in a global environment introduced us to the role of ethics and social responsibility in various aspects of decision-making. The ITEC Programme covers a lot of courses in different areas such as IT, management, finance, education, journalism, diplomacy, entrepreneurship and many others from more than 50 institutes all over India. The length of the courses can be from 1 week and up to 1,5 - 2 years for postgraduate diploma courses. All the courses are fully funded by the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India. More about this programme you can read here http://www.indembminsk.in/eoi.php?id=ITEC. As you understood with this post I highly recommend ITEC programme and courses at IMI, New Delhi in particular. :-)
